ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES.
- ENTRY PERIOD:
We Heart Social Con Collection Contest (the “Contest”) entry period begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on August 15, 2014 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. PT on August 24, 2014 (the “Entry Period”).
Participation open only to We Heart It registered users who are legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least 13 years old as of date of entry. Eligible entrants, who are not the age of majority in their state of residence (i.e., 18 years of age in most states, except 19 years of age in Alabama and Nebraska and 21 years of age in Mississippi) (each an “Eligible Minor”), must have their parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to enter the contest and must represent that their parent or legal guardian has read these Official Rules and agrees to them on behalf of themselves and Eligible Minor. Void outside of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, and where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. Employees, officers and directors of WHI, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, advertising and promotion agencies, manufacturers or distributors of contest materials and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouse) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of such employees/officers/directors are not eligible to enter. Contest may only be entered in or from the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, and entries originating from any other jurisdiction are not eligible for entry. You are not authorized to participate in the Contest if you are not located within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
- HOW TO ENTER:
During the Entry Period, Users must submit a collection (the “Submission”) via their We Heart It account from the submission link on the Contest landing page at [http://blog.weheartit.com/2014/08/15/we-heart-social-con]. Users can also repost their photo Submissions on Twitter, Facebook, and/or Tumblr and must be labeled with the hashtag: #SocialCon. All Submissions must be:
- Social Con related content. Collections can include photos, images, video (up to 3 minutes in length), and gif files. Users may submit as many photos in their collections as they wish to enter the Contest.
- Put into a Collection and title it “We Heart Social Con”
- Your own original, unpublished works that do not contain, incorporate or use any content owned by a third party
Submissions that don’t meet the criteria above or that violate the Submission Content Guidelines below or these Official Rules will be disqualified and will not be judged. All Submissions must be received during the Entry Period.
- SELECTION OF WINNERS:
At the end of the Entry Period, the We Heart It Users whose Submissions are in the top ten percent (10%) most “viewed” Submissions will be reviewed by the We Heart It Contest judges. The judges will select three Submissions they believe are the most creative and original collection as the Grand Prize winners.
The winners will be announced on the We Heart It blog website (blog.weheartit.com) at 3:00 p.m. PT on September 5th, 2014. Winners will also be notified via email addresses associated with each User’s We Heart It account.
Grand Prize winner must claim prize by September 12, 2014, via email confirmation.
- THE PRIZES:
There will be three (3) Grand Prize winners.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a We Heart It & Social Con Prize Pack, comprised of:
- Signed photographs of Social Con social media stars
- We Heart It memorabilia
- SUBMISSION CONTENT GUIDELINES:
Submissions may not contain, as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, any content that:
- appears to duplicate any other Submission in its entirety or substantial part;
- contains any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses;
- violates a third party’s publicity, privacy or intellectual property rights;
- is sexually explicit or suggestive;
- is threatening or depicts violence;
- is derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group;
- promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing);
- promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous;
- promotes any particular political agenda or message;
- is profane, obscene or offensive;
- is slanderous, defamatory or libelous;
- endorses any form of hate or hate group;
- communicates messages inconsistent with the positive images and/or good will to which Sponsor wishes to associate; and/or
- depicts any unlawful behavior or violates any law.
All Submissions that do not comply with these Official Rules or that otherwise contain prohibited or inappropriate content deemed unacceptable by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified and may be removed. The Sponsor makes the final determination as to which Submissions are eligible to take part in this Contest.
Submissions will not be returned. As between the User and the Sponsor, the User retains ownership of all intellectual property rights in and to the Submission. By submitting your Submission, you grant the Sponsor, a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable license to host, copy, distribute, display, publicly perform, edit, modify, retitle, and use the entire Submission or portions of your Submission, combine them with other content or material, make unlimited derivative works therefrom, and otherwise exploit your Submission and all images, text, video, audio, content and materials depicted therein, in whole or in part, in any manner or medium now or hereafter known or devised (including, without limitation, streaming media, film, television, videocassettes, print, interactive devices, mobile media, Internet and on-line systems), throughout the universe and in any and all languages. Sponsor may exercise all these rights itself or through third parties. Sponsor, and each of its successors, assigns and licensees, will have the right to assign or transfer any or all such rights and to grant unlimited, multiple-level sublicenses without payment to you by Sponsor or anyone else. You further grant to Sponsor the right to use your name, city and state, image, photograph or other picture (still or motion), and/or voice, and other reproductions of your physical likeness as included in or derived from your Submission, and you waive all rights known as “moral rights.” You represent and warrant to Sponsor that you have the full legal right to grant these licenses to Sponsor, that you own or control the copyright and other intellectual property rights in your Submission, and that your Submission does not infringe upon or violate any rights of any person or entity, including the rights of privacy and publicity, or constitute a libel or slander against any person or entity.
- GENERAL CONDITIONS/CONDUCT:
- LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate Submission information, or for any faulty, failed, garbled or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of Submissions at any point in the operation of this Contest; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Contest; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or any the website or any combination thereof, or; (e) any injury or damage to User’s or to any other person’s computer which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Contest or download any materials in the Contest. All entrants in the Contest release the Sponsor from all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property, which may be sustained in connection with their participation in the Contest. To the maximum extent permitted by law, entrant indemnifies Sponsor from and against any liability, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses resulting from any act, default or omission of the entrant and/or a breach of these Official Rules or any warranty set forth herein.
- GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION:
These Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding all conflict of law rules. If any provision of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect. The exclusive jurisdiction for any dispute, claim, or demand related in any way to the Contest will be decided exclusively by binding arbitration and shall be submitted to Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, Inc. (“JAMS”) for binding arbitration under its rules then in effect in the San Francisco, California, USA area, before one arbitrator to be mutually agreed upon by both parties. The parties agree to share equally in the arbitration costs incurred. To the extent permitted by law, the rights to litigate, seek injunctive relief or make any other recourse to judicial or any other procedure in case of disputes or claims resulting from or in connection with this Contest are hereby excluded, and entrants waive any such rights.

You may request a list of winners after October 4, 2014 by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to: We Heart Social Con Contest Winners, 442 Post St, 10th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94102, USA. Request must be received by November 4, 2014.
